Mathis Plapp is an assistant professor in the Physics Department at École Polytechnique, where he has been a faculty member since 2006. He completed his studies in physics at the University of Freiburg in Germany and Université Paris Sud in France. Plapp earned his Ph.D. at École Polytechnique, focusing on condensed matter physics, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Northeastern University in Boston from 1997 to 1999. Since 1999, he has been a permanent staff member with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Plapp teaches courses on scientific writing, including "How to Write and Publish a Scientific Paper," aimed at helping students effectively communicate their research findings.
