Distinguished Water and Climate Change Expert
Martin Kerres serves as an advisor on Circular Economy at GIZ's Go Circular program, focusing on climate, organic waste, and textiles since late 2022. After earning his Master of Science in Integrated Water Resources Management from the Technical University of Cologne and Jordan University, he has built over twelve years of expertise in water and climate change issues. His career includes significant roles at major development institutions, including advising water and wastewater utilities on decarbonization through GIZ's WaCCliM program, integrating climate risk considerations at the Inter-American Development Bank, and mainstreaming climate adaptation for KfW development bank's water portfolio. Through his work on circular economy principles and climate risk management, he continues to advance sustainable water management practices while promoting decarbonization strategies in emerging economies.
