Markku Rummukainen is a Professor of Climatology at Lund University in Sweden and a Docent in Meteorology at the University of Helsinki, Finland. He also serves as a Climate Advisor at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI). With over 25 years of research experience in atmospheric and climate science, he has made significant contributions to atmospheric composition, climate modeling, and regional climate modeling in Sweden. His work has produced valuable resources for impact studies and adaptation planning related to climate change. Rummukainen has been an author for the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) and has served as Sweden’s Focal Point for the IPCC since 2016.
