María Soledad Ramírez Montoya is a research professor at the School of Humanities and Education of Tecnológico de Monterrey. She serves as the director of the UNESCO Chair: "Open Educational Movement for Latin America" and the International Council for Open of Distance Education (ICDE): OER Latin America. Ramírez Montoya is also a principal investigator in the Strengthening Information Society Research Capacity Alliance (SIRCA) and the main organizer of the Latin American Open Regional Network for Social and Educational Research (CLARISE). Her research focuses on teaching strategies, technological resources for education, the training of educational researchers, and the open educational movement. She has held various academic roles, including dean of postgraduate studies, department director, coordinator of research groups, and pedagogical consultant. Additionally, she has been the Secretary General of the Mexican Council for Educational Research (COMIE) and President of the Committee for Applications and Allocation of Funds of the Corporation of Universities for Internet Development (CUDI).
