Komlan Sangbana is an Associate Researcher at the Platform for International Freshwater Law within the Geneva Water Hub and the Environmental Governance and Territorial Development Hub at the University of Geneva. Since January 2017, he has served as a consultant to the Secretariat of the UNECE Convention for the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes. Previously, he was a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of International Law and International Organizations at the University of Geneva from 2010 to 2015, followed by a position as a Post-doc Researcher at the Institute of Environmental Sciences. Mr. Sangbana has also been a visiting scholar at the University of Edinburgh and has provided legal expertise to various international organizations, including Green Cross International and the Global Water Partnership, focusing on governance issues related to transboundary basins in Africa. He is a member of the African Society for International Law and frequently speaks at conferences and training programs across Europe and Africa. He holds a postgraduate degree in Public Law from the University of Lomé (Togo) and a Doctorate in International Law from the University of Geneva.
