Tsinghua UniversityProfessor Lv Zhou serves as Director of the National Heritage Center at Tsinghua University, where he has established himself as a leading authority in cultural heritage conservation since 1985. His expertise spans architectural preservation and heritage management, demonstrated through significant projects including the conservation of "Gongziting" in Beijing, which received the UNESCO Asian Pacific Cultural Heritage Conservation Award in 2003. After the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, he led crucial conservation efforts for World Heritage monuments including the Er-wang Temple and Fu-Long Temple, both receiving prestigious awards. His international influence is evident through his roles as Vice President of ICOMOS-China, Council Member of ICCROM (2003-2011), and Vice Chair of the Chinese World Heritage Experts Committee. His contributions to heritage conservation have been recognized with the ICCROM Award in 2013, while his expertise has been sought for World Heritage site nominations in Japan, including Kamakura, Hiraizumi, Mt. Fuji, and Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun. Through his leadership at Tsinghua's National Heritage Center and involvement in international conservation activities, he continues to advance the field of architectural heritage preservation while fostering global collaboration in cultural heritage protection.
