Dr. Louise O’Brien, PhD, MS, is an esteemed Associate Professor at the University of Michigan, holding roles in the Sleep Disorders Center, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Her research focuses on the effects of sleep disruption on reproductive-age women, especially during pregnancy, and its links to adverse perinatal outcomes. Dr. O’Brien also studies the influence of sleep on children's health. With over 90 publications and a commitment to training future leaders in sleep medicine and maternal-fetal health, she is a vital contributor to advancing sleep science and its clinical applications.
