Georgetown UniversityLouis Weiner serves as Director of Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute, where he holds the Francis L. and Charlotte G. Gragnani Chair as Professor of Oncology. After earning his biology degree from the University of Pennsylvania and MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, followed by residency at the University of Vermont and fellowship training at Tufts University, he has established himself as an internationally recognized expert in cancer immunotherapy. His research focuses on developing novel therapeutic approaches using monoclonal antibodies to activate the immune system against cancer, with particular emphasis on understanding mechanisms of tumor resistance to immune attack
