Lotte Stig Nørgaard is an Associate Professor in Social and Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Copenhagen. She began her career as a pharmacy technician in 1987, became a pharmacist in 1992, and earned her PhD in 1996 from the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on social and clinical pharmacy, particularly in community pharmacy settings, emphasizing action-oriented research, qualitative methods, cooperation, communication, and patient-oriented medicine use. With over 150 peer-reviewed publications and more than 30 research reports and book chapters to her credit, she has led the pharmacy internship study unit for over a decade. This role involves conducting numerous studies on topics such as medication reviews, collaboration with healthcare professionals, antibiotic use, and user perspectives on medication. Her recent research explores pharmacy interns' experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was presented at the Federation of International Pharmacists (FIP) annual congress. Dr. Nørgaard is also an active member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in the Patient Perspective on Medicine Use and serves as an associate editor for the journal Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy. She teaches courses like "Understanding Patient Perspectives on Medications," contributing to the education of future pharmacy professionals.
