Lori Poole

About Me

Lori Poole is an accomplished instructor at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she brings a wealth of experience in communication and design to her teaching. She earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations and journalism from Auburn University, followed by a master’s degree focusing on organizational communication. In addition to her academic credentials, Lori has a second bachelor's degree in art studio, with concentrations in graphic design and photography.Her professional journey includes diverse roles in editorial, corporate, and non-profit communication. Lori began her career at Southern Living magazine, where she developed numerous publications and contributed to website development. She has also served as a creative manager for a large regional financial institution, overseeing teams of writers and designers on various projects and advertising campaigns.At CU Boulder, Lori teaches courses such as "Basic Elements of Design: Design Principles and Software Overview," "Graphic Elements of Design: Color Theory and Image Formats," and "Print and Digital Elements of Design: Branding and User Experience." Through these courses, she equips students with essential skills in design and communication, fostering creativity and practical knowledge that are vital in today’s digital landscape.
