Lorena Chaparro Diaz

Lorena Chaparro Diaz combines her nursing expertise with a PhD in Nursing, serving as a professor and researcher at Universidad Nacional de Colombia's Faculty of Nursing. As leader of the Nursing Care for Chronic Patients Research Group, she has made significant contributions to nursing discipline development and chronic patient care. Her work with the "Caring for Caregivers®" Program is enriched by her personal experience as a caregiver to her son with neurological syndromes, bringing a unique perspective that combines professional expertise with firsthand understanding of the caregiver role. This dual experience as both healthcare professional and mother-caregiver has deeply informed her approach to nursing education and research.
