Liu Zhengzhong, known by his pen name Tang Xian, holds a Ph.D. in literature from National Taiwan University. He has taught at National Tsinghua University for many years and served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Taiwan Poetics. Currently, he is an associate professor in the Department of Chinese Literature at National Taiwan University. Liu is the author of six poetry collections, including "The Golden Arm Hook," and two essay collections, such as "When the World Is Sick, I Am Sick Too." His scholarly work includes discussions on topics like "Monster Writing in Modern Chinese Poetry," "Heretical Character of Military Poets," and "Research on the Poems of Wang Jinling in Jinling," as well as "Modern Prose Journey." He has also edited works like "Taiwan Military Selections" and "Contemporary Literature Reader." Liu has received several prestigious awards, including the May Fourth Prize, the 1998 Poetry Award, the Liang Shiqiu Literary Award, the Times Literary Award, the United Daily News Literary Award, the Central Daily News Literary Award, and the Taipei City Literary Award.
