Dr. Leah Macaden serves as Senior Lecturer in Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh, bringing over 30 years of experience in nursing education and research. Through her Coursera course "Human Rights-based Approach to Dignity in Care (DIGNISPACE)," she helps healthcare professionals understand dignity-centered care for older adults. Her expertise spans gerontological nursing, dementia care, sensory impairments, and end-of-life care. As a Churchill Fellow (2019), Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), and National Teaching Fellow of Advance HE (2022), she has been recognized for her innovative approaches to education and research-integrated teaching. Her current roles include Vice Lead of the Northern Nursing Education Network of the UArctic and Executive Committee Member of the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium. She previously served as Professor at India's highest-ranking College of Nursing and WHO Collaborating Centre at Christian Medical College until 2011. Her teaching methodology emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and technology-enhanced learning, particularly in developing educational resources for workforce development in elder care
