Media Literacy Expert and Digital Education Scholar

Arizona State UniversityKristy Roschke serves as the director of the News Co/Lab at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where she earned her Ph.D. in 2018. Her career spans over 15 years of teaching and mentoring journalists, with expertise in media literacy, digital media, misinformation, and journalism trust. She has provided subject matter expertise to organizations like Meta, the International Medical Corps, and the World Health Organization. Her work includes leading research on misinformation detection, public perceptions of local news, and social media corrections. She co-designed a successful online media literacy course that has enrolled more than 3,000 participants and currently serves on the board of the National Association of Media Literacy Education. Her professional background includes roles as Executive Director of SPOT 127 Youth Media Center, journalism educator at Sunrise Mountain High School, and public relations supervisor at Porter Novelli. She holds multiple degrees from Arizona State University, including a B.A. in Journalism, a Master's in Mass Communication, and a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication
