Prof. Dr. Klaus Heine holds the Chair for Law and Economics and Economic Policy at Erasmus School of Law, where he integrates European economic policy, law and economics, and management into a multidisciplinary research approach. His work focuses on the intersection of these domains, particularly in relation to the legal challenges posed by digitalization for society and business. He teaches courses on European integration, digital governance, and grid regulation, contributing to the academic discourse on how legal frameworks can adapt to technological advancements. Before joining Erasmus in 2010, Prof. Heine taught at various universities, including Bochum, Marburg, and the Free University of Berlin. He served as the Director of the Erasmus Graduate School of Law from 2016 to 2021 and is currently involved in leading initiatives such as the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Digital Governance. A recognized expert in his field, he frequently advises Dutch and German governments on digitalization matters and has published extensively in leading journals while presenting at international conferences.
