Kimberly B. McLain, Ph.D.

Kimberly B. McLain, Ph.D., is a Curricula Course Developer for the MOOC Foundations for Assisting in Home Care and an Assistant Professor at The State University of New York. With a strong background in nursing and mental health, she holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education with a focus on teaching from the University at Buffalo, along with a Master's in Community Counseling and a Bachelor's in Psychology. Kimberly has also earned Associate degrees in Nursing and Medical Assisting from SUNY Broome Community College. Her diverse teaching experience includes courses in psychology and counseling at various institutions, including Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Nurse, she brings extensive expertise to her educational initiatives, aiming to enhance the quality of home care education. Through her work on the MOOC, she is committed to improving access to training for individuals pursuing careers in home care services.
