A Distinguished Game Writer and Educational Pioneer
Kim Sparks serves as a Freelance Game Writer and Educator, combining her expertise in game narrative with extensive teaching experience across multiple institutions. After earning her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, she has built an impressive career spanning both game development and education. Her game writing portfolio includes major titles such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, where she contributed to creating an expansive Greek epic that spans the Mediterranean, and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Currently teaching Media Writing and Screenwriting in the Television Broadcasting Program at Seneca College, she has shared her expertise at numerous institutions including the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Sheridan College, Humber College, Durham College, and the Art Institute of Toronto since 2002. As a course instructor for UBC's Professional Certificate in Writing for Video Games program, she brings practical industry experience to aspiring game writers, focusing on helping students develop portfolios suitable for industry applications. Her advocacy for women in games and regular speaking engagements on game writing contribute to making the industry more accessible to emerging talent.
