Georgetown UniversityKevin FitzGerald serves as the Dr. David Lauler Chair of Catholic Health Care Ethics at Georgetown University's Center for Clinical Bioethics, bringing unique expertise as both a Jesuit priest and molecular geneticist. After earning his BA in Biology from Cornell and Master of Divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology, he completed two PhDs from Georgetown University in Molecular Genetics and Bioethics. His research spans both scientific and ethical domains, investigating abnormal gene expression in cancer while addressing ethical challenges in biomedical research and medical genomics. As a Research Associate Professor in Georgetown's Department of Oncology and member of the Center for Clinical Bioethics, he contributes to various programs including the Angiogenesis, Invasion, Metastasis Program at the Lombardi Cancer Center. His work includes publishing scientific and ethical articles in peer-reviewed journals while providing expertise on critical issues such as human cloning, genetic testing, and healthcare ethics. Currently, he chairs the Department of Medical Humanities at Creighton University School of Medicine, continuing his commitment to bridging the gap between scientific advancement and ethical healthcare practice.
