Katrina Falkner

Katrina Falkner serves as Executive Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology at the University of Adelaide, where she has revolutionized computer science education through innovative research and leadership. After establishing the Computer Science Education Research Group (CSER), she has secured over $26 million in government and industry funding to support research and community initiatives focused on addressing educational inequities and technology access. Her work includes leading the CSER Digital Technologies Education Program, which has supported over 45,000 teachers across Australia through MOOCs and professional development. Her collaborations span major organizations including Google, DST Group, and the Department of Education and Training. Her achievements have earned numerous accolades including the EdTechSA Leader of the Year, the Australian Computing Society Gold Award, and the CORE John Hughes Distinguished Service Award. As Chair of the University's Transforming Culture Initiative and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, she continues to champion diversity in STEM while advancing computer science education through innovative approaches to online learning and collaborative pedagogy.
