Katja Taxis, MPharm, MSc, PhD, is a full Professor of Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Groningen, where she also serves as the Programme Director for the Master of Science in Pharmacy. She holds a pharmacy degree from the University of Hamburg and earned both her MSc and PhD in clinical pharmacy from University College London. Her research focuses on drug utilization and medication errors, aiming to develop and evaluate innovative practices often led by community pharmacists. Dr. Taxis employs both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in her work and is currently involved in several European projects, including the Happy Patient initiative (www.happypatient.eu). She teaches courses such as "Patient Perspectives on Medications: Qualitative Interviews," emphasizing the importance of understanding patient experiences in medication management. Additionally, she chairs the European Drug Utilisation Research Group (EuroDURG), contributing to advancements in pharmacotherapy research across Europe.
