Katherine Klein is the Edward H. Bowman Professor of Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She earned her B.A. from Yale University and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining Wharton, she was a faculty member at the University of Maryland and served as a visiting professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.An award-winning organizational psychologist, Klein's research spans various topics including team leadership, organizational change, employee diversity, and social networks. Her extensive field research has been published in top academic journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, and the Academy of Management Journal. She has also served as an associate editor for several journals and is a Fellow of multiple professional organizations, including the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.Klein has consulted for numerous organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, including Charles Schwab and Medtronic, focusing on issues related to leadership and organizational effectiveness. Her current research interests involve race in organizations, leadership succession, and Rwanda’s post-genocide reconciliation efforts.In addition to her research and consulting work, Professor Klein teaches courses such as "Business Strategies for Social Impact" at Wharton.
