J.R. Storment is the Executive Director of the FinOps Foundation, a program of the Linux Foundation dedicated to advancing cloud financial management practices. With over 20 years of experience in technology problem-solving, Storment has spent the last decade working with major cloud consumers like GE, Atlassian, and Uber to optimize their cloud expenditures. He co-founded Cloudability, a leading cloud financial management platform, which was later acquired by Apptio. Storment is also the co-author of "Cloud FinOps: Collaborative, Real-Time Cloud Financial Management," published by O'Reilly Media. His expertise spans cloud cost optimization, financial analytics, and the development of FinOps culture within organizations. At the FinOps Foundation, Storment leads initiatives to promote collaboration, education, and standardization in cloud financial management, working with industry leaders to shape the future of FinOps practices. His work focuses on empowering organizations to balance the speed, cost, and quality of cloud operations through effective financial management strategies.
