Louisiana State UniversityDr. Joy Blanchard is an Associate Professor in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education at Louisiana State University (LSU). She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia, a Master’s in Higher Education from Florida State University, and is pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law at Tulane University. Her research interests primarily focus on higher education law, particularly in areas related to intercollegiate athletics, student safety, faculty rights, and negligence liability. Dr. Blanchard has served on the board of directors for the Education Law Association and has presented her research at various national and international conferences. She also has extensive experience in student affairs, having held various leadership roles in student conduct, residence life, and service-learning at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Dr. Blanchard’s work has been published in top academic journals, and she has received numerous awards, including the LSU Brij Mohan Distinguished Professor Award in 2022.
