John Olbrich

John Olbrich serves as Adjunct Professor at Tsinghua University, where he has taught for over 11 years since August 2013. After graduating from Cambridge University, he has established himself as a dedicated educator focusing on English writing and Western culture at one of China's most prestigious institutions. His work spans teaching English writing to language majors and European Thought and Culture courses, drawing from his extensive experience in British university management and teaching. Through his decade-long residence in China, including eight years of teaching experience at Tsinghua, he has developed expertise in cross-cultural education and understanding. His interests particularly shine in comparative history between Chinese and European traditions, demonstrated through his development of courses that bridge Eastern and Western cultural perspectives. Currently continuing his role at Tsinghua's Language Center, he helps students master English writing skills while deepening their understanding of European culture and thought.
