EdxJohana del Pilar Cortés Nieto holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Warwick (UK, 2019), an LL.M. from Columbia University (USA, 2009) supported by a Fulbright-Colciencias-DNP scholarship, a specialization in Public Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia (2005), and a Law degree from Universidad del Rosario (2004). She served in various roles at the Constitutional Court of Colombia from 2004 to 2014, including as an auxiliary magistrate, focusing on economic, social, and cultural rights, environmental law, indigenous and tribal peoples' rights, and economic constitutionalism. Her doctoral thesis explores the intersection of poverty, development, and law. Since 2018, she has been a full-time professor at the Faculty of Jurisprudence at Universidad del Rosario.
