Joe Holt serves as the James E. and Audrey Jack Teaching Professor of Business Ethics at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business, bringing a unique blend of academic, spiritual, and practical business experience to his role. His diverse background includes a BA from Boston College, 12 years as a Jesuit with graduate studies in Philosophy, Theology, and Biblical Theology, followed by a law degree from Harvard Law School. His professional experience spans from stockbroking to corporate law, including directing the Clinic on Entrepreneurship at The University of Chicago Law School. At Notre Dame, he teaches a wide range of courses including Business Ethics, Ethics in Finance, Gender Equity in Business, and Spirituality of Leadership across MBA, MSM, MNA, and MSF programs. His expertise has earned him multiple teaching awards, including MBA Teacher of the Year (2013) and MSM Teacher of the Year (2019). As a regular contributor to major media outlets including CNBC, The Hill, CNN, and Forbes, he provides expert commentary on business ethics and leadership. His work as an SEC business ethics expert witness and his consulting practice in ethics, leadership, spirituality, and negotiations demonstrates the practical application of his academic expertise.
