Jiang Qingwu has established himself as a leading figure in epidemiology at Fudan University, where he serves as Distinguished Professor and doctoral supervisor. His pioneering research in infectious disease epidemiology, particularly in schistosomiasis and SARS, has significantly advanced the field of public health in China. With over 300 published papers and six textbooks and monographs as chief editor, his academic contributions are substantial. His leadership extends across multiple prestigious positions, including President of the fifth Council of the Chinese Association for Health Promotion and Education, member of the National Health Commission's Disease Prevention and Control Expert Committee, and health advisor to the Macau SAR government. As an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and Vice Chairman of the Epidemiology Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, he continues to shape public health policy and research. His comprehensive oversight of laboratory operations has strengthened Fudan University's research capabilities in epidemiology and infectious disease control.
