Climate and Hydrology Expert
Jhan-Carlo Espinoza has established himself as a leading Peruvian climate scientist whose research has significantly advanced our understanding of South American climate systems. Born in Caraz, Ancash, Peru, he earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris, France, and currently holds positions as a tenured Research Director at the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) and Professor of Climatology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). His expertise spans regional and large-scale climate variability in tropical South America, with particular focus on the Andes and Amazonia regions
