Lee serves as Chief Science and Innovation Officer at the Ellison Institute of Technology and Professor at the University of Southern California, bringing extensive experience in strategic scientific initiatives and healthcare innovation. His career includes significant leadership at the National Cancer Institute, where he directed the Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives, supporting over 2,000 trans-disciplinary projects through innovative programs like the NCI Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer and The Cancer Genome Atlas. As Deputy Director for Cancer Research and Technology in the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force (2016), he coordinated major initiatives including the Applied Proteogenomics OrganizationaL Learning and Outcomes Network. His research contributions span cellular mechanics, molecular biology, and engineering approaches to age-related diseases, resulting in over seventy scientific publications. He holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering and PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where he continues as an adjunct associate professor. His current work focuses on developing molecular-driven adaptive learning healthcare systems while serving on multiple prestigious boards including the National Research Advisory Council for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute's Board of Trustees.
