Trinity CollegeJennifer Regan-Lefebvre serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of History at Trinity College, where she has established herself as a leading expert in modern British, Irish, and imperial history. Her academic journey includes a B.S. from Georgetown University and both M.A. and Ph.D. from Queen's University Belfast, followed by teaching positions at the University of Exeter, American University of Paris, and University of Cambridge. Her scholarly work spans British imperial history, Irish nationalism, and wine studies, culminating in several significant publications including "Cosmopolitan Nationalism in the Victorian Empire" (2009), "For the Liberty of Ireland at Home and Abroad: the Autobiography of J.F.X. O'Brien" (2010), and most recently "Imperial Wine: How the British Empire Made Wine's New World" (2022), which won the André Simon Award. As a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and former Huntington Library Exchange Fellow at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, she has made substantial contributions to understanding the intersections of imperialism, nationalism, and global commerce. Her expertise in wine history has earned her recognition as one of the "Future 50" of the global wine industry by the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2019, while she continues to shape academic discourse through her role as President of the Northeast Conference of British Studies and co-editor of the six-volume Bloomsbury Cultural History of Wine.
