Jennifer Hasselgard-Rowe is an accomplished researcher and lecturer with a robust academic background in law and public health. She holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne, where her thesis focused on "Ending detention of drug users in Cambodia," examining the international and domestic factors influencing substance use policies. Her expertise encompasses human rights law, international humanitarian law, and substance use issues, particularly harm reduction and evidence-based public health practices. Since June 2017, she has served as the Executive Coordinator of the Geneva Platform on Human Rights, Health and Psychoactive Substances, fostering collaboration between civil society and international organizations to enhance health and human rights in drug policy discussions. With extensive experience working for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, she is well-versed in multi-cultural environments and speaks six languages. Additionally, she has been a Visiting Fellow at the Global Health Centre at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva since mid-2018.
