Jeff Thompson

Jeffrey R. Thompson, PhD, is a Senior Analytical Training Consultant with the Advanced Analytics team at SAS Institute, where he specializes in providing high-level training and support in statistical analysis and data science. Dr. Thompson's journey with SAS began in the early 1990s during his undergraduate studies in mathematics at Stetson University, where he quickly recognized the software's potential for research and education. He further honed his skills while obtaining a master's degree in Computational Statistics from the University of Central Florida and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Florida, focusing his dissertation on measurement error models. Before joining SAS, he was an academic at North Carolina State University, where he earned recognition as an outstanding teacher. Dr. Thompson has contributed to various peer-reviewed journals and is the author of the teacher’s edition of "The Basic Practice of Statistics." His expertise is sought after in both national and international forums, where he presents on statistical methodologies and analytics.
