Jan-Henk Welink

Jan-Henk Welink is a distinguished expert at TU Delft's Department of Materials Science and Engineering, specializing in waste management and circular economy. After graduating from Twente University of Technology in 1993 with research on waste incineration, he has established himself as a prominent figure in sustainable resource management. At TU Delft, he leads educational programs and research initiatives focused on critical materials, waste management, and industrial symbiosis. He currently serves as a project leader and initiator of the Circular Circuits research project funded by NWO, which brings together companies and knowledge institutions to develop next-generation circular electronics. His work encompasses critical raw materials recovery, sustainable resource management, and the development of circular economy solutions. As an instructor, he contributes to courses on waste management and critical raw materials, teaching students about recycling technologies, collection systems, and circular business models. His expertise extends to industrial ecology, where he focuses on developing practical solutions for sustainable waste management and resource recovery, particularly in electronics and critical materials.
