Dr. James P. Weston is a distinguished Harmon Whittington Professor of Finance at Rice University, where he has been a faculty member since 2000. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia and has since focused his teaching primarily on corporate finance and financial institutions. Dr. Weston is known for his engaging courses, including Data Analysis for Managerial Decision-Making and Finance for Non-Finance Professionals, which have garnered him multiple teaching awards, including the prestigious Alumni Faculty Award in 2007 and 2010.His research encompasses a wide range of corporate finance topics, including banking, stock market liquidity, and risk management. Dr. Weston has published extensively in leading academic finance journals, with his work being widely cited in both academic and popular media.
