Dr. Jale Tosun is a Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Political Science at Heidelberg University, where she specializes in the comparative analysis of environmental policy and regulation. After completing her studies in political and administrative science in Konstanz and Pavia, she earned her PhD at the University of Konstanz, focusing on transformative changes in environmental policy in Latin America and Eastern Europe. Prior to her current position, Dr. Tosun was a Research Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research and joined Heidelberg University as an assistant professor in October 2013. Since March 2015, she has held her professorship, teaching courses on international and comparative political economy. Her research interests include EU social governance, climate change, energy policy, and the distributive conflicts within the European Union. Dr. Tosun is also an associate editor for the journals Policy Sciences and International Review of Public Policy, and her work has been published in leading international journals such as Nature Climate Change and Global Environmental Change.
