Jaap Spronk

Dr. Jaap Spronk is an emeritus full professor of financial management science at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). He joined RSM in 2008, where he served as the academic dean of MBA programs until 2014. Prior to this role, he held several significant positions at the Erasmus School of Economics, including vice-dean of international new business development, director of studies, and chairman of the Department of Finance. Dr. Spronk has been a prominent figure in the field of finance and investment since becoming a full professor in 1982. His contributions extend beyond teaching, as he has served as an editor for numerous academic journals, including managing editor for the Springer Series in Financial Modelling and associate editor for the Journal of Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis. His legacy continues through initiatives such as the Jaap Spronk Memorial Fund, which aims to support educational opportunities and inspire future generations of students.
