Isabelle Bolon is a veterinarian and researcher at the Institute of Global Health, University of Geneva, where she co-leads the One Health/EcoHealth Unit alongside Dr. Rafael Ruiz de Castañeda. She holds a PhD in Biology and a Master of Advanced Studies in Public Health, with over 20 years of experience in academic research focusing on wildlife ecotoxicology and human health issues, including lung cancer and transgenic animal models. Dr. Bolon has served as Veterinary/Scientific Manager of animal facilities at the Faculty of Medicine and as a Research Advisor at the Rectorate of UNIGE. Her expertise spans large animal medicine, infectious disease surveillance, zoonosis prevention, and animal welfare. Currently, her research addresses Global Health challenges at the human-animal-ecosystem interface, particularly concerning emerging zoonotic diseases and human-livestock-wildlife interactions. She teaches courses such as "Global Health at the Human-Animal-Ecosystem Interface" and is involved in developing innovative educational projects and MOOCs in Global Health.
