Wageningen University & ResearchIngrid Gevers serves as Advisor in Aquatic Resource Management and Climate Change at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI), where she brings over 25 years of experience in wetlands, fisheries, and coastal zone management. After completing her engineering degree, she has established herself as a key expert in designing and facilitating learning trajectories that explore the connections between water, climate risk, and food security. Her work focuses on developing interactive learning materials and games that inspire practical change through constructive dialogue and reflection. As an instructor for MOOCs including "Climate Action in Biodiverse Landscapes," she helps professionals understand complex interactions between climate change and natural resource management. Through her roles in various international projects, particularly in Africa and Asia, she facilitates the development of management plans that balance economic development with environmental sustainability. Her expertise particularly shines in capacity building and curriculum development, demonstrated through her innovative use of visual elements and games in training programs. Currently based in both the Netherlands and Senegal, she continues to advance understanding of climate change adaptation and disaster risk management while working with diverse stakeholders worldwide to enhance water and food security.
