Ilaria Madama

Dr. Ilaria Madama is an Associate Professor of Political Science in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Milan, where she specializes in International Political Economy, EU Politics, and Work-Family Balance Policies. She coordinates the academic minor program "Diritti, Lavoro e Pari Opportunità – DiLPO" (Rights, Work, and Equal Opportunities) and oversees the EuVisions Observatory. Dr. Madama is also a faculty member of the Ph.D. program in Political Studies at the University of Milan and serves on the Scientific Committee of ESPAnet-Italia, the Italian branch of the European Social Policy Network. Her research primarily focuses on EU social governance and comparative social policy, examining the political and institutional dynamics that shape the development and reform of benefits, regulations, and services across European countries, particularly in areas such as minimum income protection, social inclusion, and work-life balance. Through her work, Dr. Madama contributes to a deeper understanding of social policy frameworks within the European Union and their implications for equality and welfare.
