Delft University of TechnologyIgor Tempels Moreno Pessoa has built an accomplished career in urban governance and participatory planning, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Urban Governance at the University of Twente's Faculty of Behavioural, Management & Social Sciences. His academic journey includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Delft's Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment from June 2019 to January 2021, and current work at the Centre for Urban Studies at UvA. With a background as an Architect and Urban Planner from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Pessoa brings expertise in participatory planning, design practices, and urban resilience. He helped establish the Global Urban Lab at TU Delft, a collaborative initiative focusing on urban challenges in emerging economies. His research emphasizes practical applications of resilience concepts and community empowerment in urban planning. Pessoa's work spans various areas including city planning, urban development, sustainable development, and geopolitics, with a particular focus on transforming theoretical concepts into implementable practices. His multidisciplinary approach combines traditional design-oriented solutions with experimental strategies to address complex urban challenges.
