Expert in Sustainable Transportation and Electric Grid Integration
Ibrahim Diab currently serves as a Research Fellow at AMS Institute after completing his PhD at TU Delft in 2023, where he specialized in sustainable transportation grids and multi-functional infrastructure solutions. His academic journey includes an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology with honors from TU Delft (2017) and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut (2012). His doctoral research focused on transforming trolleybus grids through the integration of renewables, energy storage, EV chargers, and residential loads, particularly studying the Arnhem trolleybus network. His current work examines the Amsterdam metro network's Noord-Zuid line, investigating how to implement high-power DC chargers for city buses using existing metro infrastructure. His research has garnered significant attention, with multiple publications in prestigious journals focusing on sustainable public transport, electric mobility, and innovative grid solutions. As an independent consultant and researcher in electrical transportation infrastructures, he continues to advance the field of sustainable electric mobility while developing practical solutions for urban transportation challenges.
