Howard Bloch

Prof. Howard Bloch is the Sterling Professor of French at Yale University. His work spans medieval literature, social history, legal and political institutions, gender, and the origins of Western romantic love. Bloch holds a medal from the Collège de France, is an officer in the Order of Arts and Letters, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
