Dr. Holly C. Wilcox is a Professor in the Department of Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she also holds joint appointments in the Departments of Health Policy and Management, and Psychiatry. With over 25 years dedicated to suicide prevention research, Dr. Wilcox has made significant contributions through large-scale studies on youth suicidal behaviors, evaluations of community-based prevention programs, and the identification of biomarkers for suicide risk. She is actively involved in various settings, including schools, universities, and military bases, aiming to implement effective interventions that address this critical public health issue. As President of the International Academy of Suicide Research and a consultant for the World Health Organization, Dr. Wilcox advocates for evidence-based policies and practices to enhance suicide prevention efforts globally. Her commitment to mentoring students and leading interdisciplinary collaborations at Johns Hopkins further underscores her role as a key figure in advancing public health strategies aimed at reducing suicide rates and improving mental health outcomes.
