Indiana UniversityHillol Bala is a prominent figure in Information Systems research and education at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, where he serves as the Conrad Prebys Professor. His academic journey began with a B.B.A. from the University of Dhaka in 1999, followed by an M.S. in Information Systems and MBA from Texas Tech University, and a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Arkansas in 2008. His expertise encompasses digitalization in organizations and society, IT-enabled organizational change, enterprise systems implementation, and technology adaptation. As Co-Director of the Institute for Digital Enterprise, he has published extensively in prestigious journals including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and Management Science. His teaching excellence has been recognized multiple times, including the Faculty Distinguished Teaching Award in 2015 and numerous nominations for the Trustees' Teaching Award. Since joining IU Kelley in 2008, he has made significant contributions to the field, including serving as senior editor for the Journal of the Association for Information Systems since 2019. His research impact and academic leadership earned him the honorary title of Conrad Prebys Professor in 2020, marking his continued influence in the field of information systems.
