Dr. Helen Kinsman Hughes serves as the Assistant Medical Director in the Office of Telemedicine at Johns Hopkins University, where she also holds the position of Medical Director of Pediatric Telemedicine. With a background in pediatrics and public health, Dr. Hughes has played a significant role in advancing telemedicine, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted the importance and viability of remote healthcare solutions. She emphasizes the need for adaptability in academic medicine and has been actively involved in research and discussions surrounding telehealth's evolution and its impact on patient care. Dr. Hughes is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of General Pediatrics and teaches an online course on Coursera titled "Foundations of Telehealth."
