Tsinghua UniversityHe Congrong serves as Associate Professor at the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University, where she has established herself as an expert in Chinese architectural history and heritage conservation. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Southeast University's School of Architecture, followed by a Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2008. Her research focuses on Chinese architectural history and theory, traditional architectural values, architectural patterns, and historical building survey and design. Her significant contributions include leading conservation projects such as the documentation and design of Zhendu Gate and Zhao De Gate of the Forbidden City, and the rebuilt design of XuanDi Hall of Nanyan temple on Wudang Mountain. As an educator, she teaches core courses including Chinese Architecture History, Architectural Design Studio, and Measuring on Historical Chinese Architecture at both undergraduate and graduate levels, while also coordinating the Tsinghua-Xinjiang Joint Program. Her scholarly work includes numerous publications on architectural heritage, urban planning of Tang Dynasty Chang'an, and comparative studies of Chinese and Western architectural traditions.
