Hafez Ismaili M’hamdi is a lecturer at Leiden University and a PhD candidate in ethics at the Erasmus University Medical Center. He teaches courses on philosophy of music and music and society. Hafez studied jazz guitar at the Conservatory of Rotterdam and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and philosophy at Leiden University, alongside Applied Ethics at Utrecht University. Before pursuing academia, he worked for 10 years as a professional musician and guitar teacher. He is currently focusing on his PhD thesis, Justice, Ethics and Birth.
