Curtin UniversityDr. Gwyneth Peaty serves as Research Fellow in the Centre for Culture and Technology (CCAT) at Curtin University's School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry. Through her research and publications, she explores the intersection of disability, technology, and horror in popular culture. Her academic credentials include a BA in Communication Studies and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Western Australia. Her expertise spans digital media, Gothic horror, video games, and disability studies, with significant publications examining zombies, first-person gameplay, and neo-supernaturalism. As Reviews Editor of the Australasian Journal of Popular Culture and Australian representative of the Gothic Association of New Zealand and Australia (GANZA), she actively shapes discourse in her field. Her current work includes writing a monograph about gargoyles for the University of Wales Press Gothic Literary Studies series, while maintaining her role as a multidisciplinary disability scholar examining representations of monstrosity, technology, and the body in contemporary media
