Gregory Wiles, PhD

Dr. Gregory Wiles is the Interim Chair and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Kennesaw State University. With a PhD in Technology Management, he has a strong foundation in quality systems and extensive experience in manufacturing, particularly in lean implementation. Dr. Wiles has taught a variety of Six Sigma-related courses on Coursera, such as Six Sigma Principles and Advanced Analyze Phase, designed to enhance organizational process improvement and quality management skills. Recognized for his contributions to engineering education, Dr. Wiles was honored as the 2024 Engineer of the Year in Education at the Georgia Engineering Awards. His teaching philosophy emphasizes practical applications of engineering principles to prepare students for impactful careers. With a career spanning over 27 years as a professional engineer before transitioning to academia, Dr. Wiles remains dedicated to fostering the next generation of engineers through innovative teaching and mentorship
