Delft University of TechnologyGijs van der Hoorn serves as a researcher in the Robot Dynamics group at TU Delft's Department of Cognitive Robotics, while holding key positions as Technical Lead Europe for the ROS-Industrial Consortium and board member of the Smart Advanced Manufacturing XL research center. After completing his Master's degree at TU Delft, he has focused on advancing open-source software adoption in automation through his work with ROS and ROS-Industrial communities. His research interests span software engineering in experimental robotics, component-based software systems, industrial robotics, and factory automation. As a member of the H2020 EU project ROSIN coordination team, he contributes to developing quality-assured robot software components. Beyond his research, he actively supports the robotics community by maintaining software components and providing technical assistance to users, demonstrating his commitment to advancing industrial automation through open-source solutions
